God Said It

“God is not a man, that He should lie, Nor a son of man, that He should repent. Has He said, and will He not do? Or has He spoken, and will He not make it good?” (Numbers 23:19 NKJV)

The importance we accord a person often reflects in how we react to what they say.

If your friend told you they would get you a job in a world-class company and the owner of the said company then tells you the same thing, who would you believe? Wise choice.

We know nothing is impossible to God, but why do we often struggle to believe Him?

It’s simple: We look at God from the lens of our limitations.

However, God is not limited by anyone or anything. He is the I AM: The God that just is.

God speaks through His Word. And the Word always has something to say. Thus, if God is willing to grant people perfect GPAs this semester, you shouldn’t have doubts or unbelief in your heart. More importantly, do not count yourself out of His promises.

Because, here is what the Bible says:

“If we are faithless, He remains faithful; He cannot deny Himself.” (2 Timothy 2:13 NKJV)

Therefore, the question is: “How do I believe?” Well, the Bible gives a prescription for that in Romans 10:17:

“So then faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.”

We are able to believe God when we choose what we give our ears to. If whatever we give our ears to doesn’t align with what God is saying, then there is bound to be contradiction. And a mind full of contradictions cannot reach a conclusion.

God wants us to always land on faith no matter where life throws us. Because faith is trusting in God even when you cannot trust yourself.

Does this then mean that faith keeps us snuggled up in bed sleeping through productive hours because God said? Absolutely not!

Faith spurs us to act—act on what God says.

“Your ears shall hear a word behind you, saying, ‘This is the way, walk in it,’ whenever you turn to the right hand or whenever you turn to the left.” (Isaiah 30:21 NKJV)

Wait on the Lord with an expectation of what He’ll say to you. So that you can act on it.

The same God who gives you His Word is the One who gives you the understanding. If He has said it, then He will do it.

What do you have to do? Follow Him as He leads you.

“….Whatever He says to you, do it.” (John 2:5b NKJV)
