“When the Lord brought back his exiles to Jerusalem, it was like a dream!” (Psalm 126:1)
Beloved, since you believe God can do anything, nothing should be viewed as impossible to Him— and surely not your academics.
This is the least of the things He can take care of— of all the things pertaining to you.
The question is: Do you have faith for the impossible?
Peter would have never walked on water if he didn’t have faith for the impossible. Practically, no one can walk on water.
But Peter knew Jesus and believed Him; And he walked on water.
If you believe in this same Jesus, it doesn’t matter how impossible it seems for your grades to rise from the point they are now, they can indeed rise beyond your expectations.
The question is: Would you fix your gaze on Jesus or on the billowing waves?
What does it mean to believe in Jesus?
We often think believing begins and ends in our hearts. Or believing means doing nothing but saying you believe. On the contrary, believing is active, not passive.
Take this into account: If you were on a plane that was about to crash and you were given a parachute to jump off the plane. You believed the parachute could get you off without any doubt but you failed to put it on— if the plane crashes, would you survive despite having a parachute? Except by a miracle. And we know that is Jesus’ specialty.
But here’s the point, believing in Jesus means entrusting your life with Him, your academics included.
So, you will study, desist from cheating on tests and in exams, copying others’ assignments and trusting Him to crown your efforts with success.
However, your case could be like that of Peter. Perhaps, you did all of these, and even more. Yet, there’s no catch. You toiled all night but there’s nothing to show for it. It’s beautiful to know the Bible doesn’t end there.
Peter invited Jesus into his boat, and at the words of Jesus, Peter cast his net. It seemed pointless. Jesus had told him to cast his net where he already had and caught nothing. It is crucial to know that Peter was no amateur. This was his profession. This was his expertise.
Jesus was not a fisherman. Carpentry was likely his area of expertise. Yet, at His word, Peter had such a great catch that his net broke. But we know that same Jesus is who we believe in today. And whatever He has done before, He can do again and again.
The question is: What word have you heard from Jesus regarding your academics?
When you receive a word from God, you can always hold Him by His word. And here’s what Jesus says:
“Heaven and earth will pass away, but My words will by no means pass away.” (Matthew 24:35)
Beloved, wait on the Lord for a word. And more importantly, do all He says you should do. Then wait and see what the Lord will do.
It’ll be just like a dream!
