Whenever we set goals, there is a tendency to go overboard— we sometimes write things that shock even us beyond belief.
Over time, we find ourselves laughing these things off as foolishness or impossibilities.
What was I thinking?
Vivid imagination!
However, oftentimes, these goals are not the problem—our mindset toward them is.
If you set a goal you can meet in your sleep, it’s not a goal—it’s a goad.
It is pertinent to note that God did not make anyone average. God called man, of all His creation, very good.
As such, your goals cannot be short of excellent.
Since you’re made very good, your goal should be excellent. This is not to mount undue pressure on you or burden you with unrealistic expectations.
This is simply a call to order.
Daniel 11:32 says:
“He shall corrupt those who have violated the covenant by flattery; but the people who know their God shall be strong and do exploits.”
Is it possible to have a 5.00 GPA this semester?
Yes, IT IS POSSIBLE!
How, you say?
If you have the Holy Spirit as your partner on any mission, impossible cannot remain in your vocabulary. For with God, nothing shall be impossible.
Certainly, you will have systems and structures incorporated to keep your eyes on the goal. However, intensity without precision is like spraying bullets without hitting the target.
You need precision. And there is none other than Holy Spirit who can give you this. He knows the end from the beginning and vice versa. He knows what might affect the structures and systems you have put in place along the way and He is willing to show you a way out anytime you feel stuck.
God wants to partner with you more than you actually think you need to partner with Him.
Don’t keep God out with your systems and structures. Rather, let Him lay the foundation of your systems and structures.
“So don’t worry about these things, saying, ‘What will we eat? What will we drink? What will we wear?’ These things dominate the thoughts of unbelievers, but your heavenly Father already knows all your needs.” (Matthew 6:8 NLT)
The reason a 5.00 sounds impossible is because you haven’t let Him. When you do, It will become possible.
Even when you don’t trust yourself, trust God.
If you let Him, He will help you.
